The FMA send 4 Former MEPs to this event to to hold a keynotes speech on the following topics: \n\nTackling democracy in a digitalised world (debating what to do about fake news\, what counts as free speech\, what to do about outside interference\, etc.)\n\nECOSOC COMMITTEE\n\n\nBalancing democracy and security (where do we draw the line between security and repression)\n\nPOLITICAL COMMITTEE\n\n\nThe issue of corruption and the role of business in promoting human rights (debate on the role of the private sector in upholding human rights\, how to limit the institutional enablers of corruption\, etc.)\n\nHUMAN RIGHTS COMMITTEE\n\n\nStrengthening democratic governance and democratic institutions (debate on supporting civil society organisations\, reducing feelings of disenfranchisement\, increasing accountability\, etc.)\n\nSPECIAL COMMITTEE\n\n\n\n  \nThree FMA Board Members have agreed to participate in this important collaboration: 1. EP to Campus coordinator Michael Hindley\, FMA Vice-President Monica Baldi\, FMA Board Member Godelieve Quisthoudt-Rowohl and FMA Member Julie Ward.

The programme encourages interactive reflection\, discussion\, and learning on European issues\, democracy\, and citizenship. \nThe HAEU educational programme is organized in collaboration with FMA\, the Former Member Association of the European Parliament. Former MEPs share their experiences in European politics and views on the EU with Florentine and European students. \nThe topic of this scholar year \nThe educational programme for the 2023/2024 school year focuses on the European citizenship topic. \n\n			\n				\n			\n			\n				\n			\n		\n\n[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
