DESCRIPTION:[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=””]Our EP to Campus event: a conference titled “AI in the EU: The EU Cloud and AI Development Act and Other EU Initiatives”\, organised in collaboration with the Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality Management at Overseas Chinese University (Taichung\, Taiwan) took place on 17 November 2025 at 2:00 p.m. (Taiwan time)\, corresponding to 6:00 a.m. (Brussels time). \nThe speaker was Ana Collado Jiménez. \nThe event\, named “EU-Taiwan Roundtable“\, focused on the topic of AI Development in Europe\, including EU digital infrastructure\, the EU Cloud and AI Development Act\, EU (French\, German\, and other Large Language Models)\, cybersecurity\, differences in the policy framework between the EU and the USA and other related issues. The event was aimed at OCU faculty and students and guests from off campus. \nTaiwan is globally recognized for its excellence in IT and Integrated Circuit manufacturing\, and its government is now investing heavily in advancing AI across sectors such as manufacturing\, healthcare and education. This seminar will therefore be especially valuable for students and guests from Taiwan\, offering them insights into European initiatives in these fields. \nThe event was held on campus and will last between one and two hours.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]

Each lecture lasted over two hours and sparked engaging discussions on EU perspectives. It also addressed current issues on the Ukrainian agenda\, offering a comprehensive perspective on the challenges and opportunities facing Europe today. \nConducted in English\, the event included a question-and-answer session\, allowing participants to engage directly with the speaker. DESCRIPTION:We are delighted to announce that our recent event in collaboration with the University of Oviedo\, entitled ‘The European Pact on Migration and Asylum: Keys and Consequences’\, took place on Thursday 26 September at 12:45. The keynote speaker\, AAD member Leopoldo López Gil\, led an enriching discussion. \nThe conference was part of the Faculty of Commerce’s complementary activities\, specially designed for students pursuing a degree in commerce\, with a focus on international trade within the European Union. Organised in Spanish\, it marked the Faculty’s inaugural event for the 2024/2025 academic year. \nParticipants were able to explore key aspects of the European Pact on Migration and Asylum\, including the content of the pact\, the challenges faced during negotiations\, the agreement process and the role of the European Parliament. The discussion also examined whether the Pact improves migration management or presents new challenges\, with a particular focus on its implications for Spain. \nWe would like to thank all those who took part and contributed to the success of this important event!

DESCRIPTION:From 18 to 23 August 2024\, the FMA together with the University ORT of Uruguay has organized a three-day EP to Campus programme on campus on the framework of the Euromodel on the work of the European Parliament.  \nThe former MEP and Ambassador Ana Gomes gave a presentation to a group of 70 students as part of a simulation of a discussion in the European Parliament. These students have been selected among 300 candidates from all universities and careers of Uruguay. \nIn her presentation Ana Gomes shared her experience in negotiation in an engaging way for the students. She introduced the functioning of the different European Commissions. She explained the role of members of the European Parliament and political parties with respect to the different nationalities. She spiked vivid interest and questions from the audience were abundant. \nThis is what the EP to Campus programme is about – extending the work of the European Union. In this case\, from the European parliament\, disseminating its principles and role\, which is not always straightforward in on the international scene. \n
