DESCRIPTION:[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text] \nOn 17 November 2021 from 18.30 to 19.45 (Brussels time) the FMA organised its sixth “Librorum” event. Cristiana Muscardini\, former member of the European Parliament from 1989-2014\, presented her book “I nostri domiciliari” (Our house arrest). \n\n\n\nThe book was presented by the FMA Vice-President Monica Baldi and the FMA Board Member Pier Antonio Panzeri. This virtual event included a Q&A session with the audience. \nCristiana Muscardini’s book\, “I nostri domiciliari” (Our House arrest)\, Ulisse Edizioni\, 2021\, is the account of the facts and statements of the days of the pandemic\, from the beginning of the closure until 2 July 2020. The author adds her consideration to the facts\, numbers\, statements told by the mass media. DESCRIPTION:[vc_row][vc_column][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/2″][vc_single_image image=”22166″ img_size=”medium”][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/2″][vc_column_text] \n\nProgramme.\nProfile of the speakers\nArticle “Europe yesterday\, today\, tomorrow “\n\n[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][vc_column_text]On 27-28 September 2021 the FMA visit to Slovenia took place. A Delegation of 10 former MEPs from seven EU countries and different European political families headed to Ljubljana. The FMA President and European Parliament Former President (2007-2009) Hans-Gert Pöttering\, led the Delegation. \nThe programme was organised with the valuable support of FMA Member from Slovenia\, Ms Zofija Mazej Kukovic and included high-level meetings with the Slovenian Parliament and Government representatives to discuss about the priorities under the Slovenian Presidency of the Council of the EU. Among other things\, the work of the Conference on the Future of Europe was discussed. \n[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]H.E Igor Zorčič\, Speaker of the National Assembly of Slovenia;  Marko Pogačnik\, President of the National Assembly’s Committee on European Union Affairs; Monika Gregorčič\, President of the National Assembly’s Committee on Foreign Policy;  Gašper Dovžan\, State Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Co-chair of the Executive Board of the Conference on the Future of Europe during the Slovenian Presidency; Dr Ernest Petrič\, Senior Adviser to the President of the Republic of Slovenia were among the eminent speakers. The FMA Delegation also visited the Jozef Stefan Institute (JSI) and met with Dr. Romana Jordan\, Advisor to the JSI Director and Member of the Administrative Board of the European Union Agency for the Cooperation of Energy Regulators (ACER). \nA special public session entitled “Europe Yesterday\, Today\, Tomorrow” was co-organised with the European Parliament Liaison Office (EPLO) in Slovenia and webstreamed Live on the Platform of the Conference on the Future of Europe. The participants were welcomed by the Secretary General of the EUI Marco Del Panta\, the Deputy Mayor of Florence Alessia Bettini and the Director of the EU Historical Archive (IUE) Dieter Schlenker. The opening of the event was entrusted to the Minister of Equal Opportunities Elena Bonetti\, the FMA President Hans-Gert Poettering and the W20 President Elvira Marasco. The debate was animated by the representatives of the International Institutions of the W20 Group and including the Commission and the European Parliament. The event ended with the presentation by the coordinator of the W20 Equity in Health Commission Flavia Franconi and by the FMA Vice President Monica Baldi of the “Charta de Florentia”. \nThe W20\, made up of more than 90 delegates from 20 counties\, is the G20 engagement group focused on gender equality and aimed at developing policy proposals and recommendations directed to the leaders of the G20 member countries. The W20 Equity in Health Commission aims to specifically address gender inequalities in health systems. Its establishment stems from the idea that gender differences affect health status and the need to therefore develop a gender approach to clinical practice.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
