The event featured a keynote presentation by FMA member and former MEP Ana Collado Jiménez as part of the university’s #ErasmusDays celebrations. \nThe conference was designed as part of the Faculty of Commerce’s complementary activities\, specifically tailored for students pursuing a degree in Social Work. The engaging webinar format included an initial presentation by Ms. Collado Jiménez\, followed by a lively dialogue and debate with the audience. \nThe discussion explored critical issues surrounding artificial intelligence\, focusing on its current challenges and opportunities. DESCRIPTION:We are pleased to announce that the roundtable organised in collaboration with the Ukrainian Association of Professors and Researchers in European Integration (APREI) and Mariupol State University took place on 15 October 2024 at 14:00 local time in Ukraine (13:00 Brussels time). \nThis round table explored what it means to embrace European values in a modern\, interconnected world\, as well as how to effectively defend citizens’ rights within international public institutions. Participants discussed democratic principles\, representation and the role of the EU in shaping global governance. Through expert advice\, they learned strategies for defending the public interest and strengthening the voice of citizens on the international stage. \nThe event was moderated in English by Maartje J.A. van Putten\, former MEP and member of the FMA. \nWe would like to thank all the participants who contributed to the success of this important discussion!

DESCRIPTION:[vc_row][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_single_image image=”27085″ alignment=”center” css=””][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_column_text css=””] \n\nDossier\nProgramme\nList of participants\nProfile of speakers\nProfile of participants\n\n[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=””]From 23 to 25 October 2024\, the Former Members Association of the European Parliament (FMA) visited Budapest\, coinciding with the Hungarian Presidency of the Council of the European Union. \nThe delegation\, composed of 26 former Members of the European Parliament from 12 different EU countries\, was led by FMA President and Former President of the European Parliament (1994-1997) Dr. Klaus Hänsch and participated in a series of official meetings with representatives of the Hungarian Parliament\, the Government and civil society organisations. The FMA Vice-President Monica Baldi\, the Honorary Secretary Teresa Riera and Board Member Paul Rübig were also part of the delegation. \nThe main objective of this visit was to listen to the priorities of the upcoming Hungarian Presidency of the Council of the European Union\, and to explore ways to address the most pressing issues on the EU agenda. \nA full report about the FMA Visit to Hungary is included in the FMA December 2024 Bulletin.  \nRead the full Press Release here.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
