All the authors who write here argue that the response to these challenges requires the European Union to be strengthened for it to be a useful instrument for the progress of the peoples of Europe.” Enrique Barόn Crespo\, Tiempo De Paz N°148\, page 8. \nFMA Vice-President Monica Baldi welcomed the speakers and participants to the event and gave the floor to Juergen Foecking\, Deputy Head of EPLO Spain\, for the opening remarks. \nThe 148th publication of Tiempo De Paz was introduced by FMA Honorary Secretary Teresa Riera Madurell. This was followed by an intervention of the coordinator of the publication and former EP and FMA President Enrique Barόn Crespo and of the President of Tiempo De Paz\, Francisca Sauquillo. \nAdditionally\, contributors to the publication Mr Héctor Casenueva\, Ms Cristina Gallach and Mr Alejandro Peinado took the floor to elaborate more about the content of their articles. \nThe event included as well a Q&A session with the audience moderated by FMA Board Member Paul Rübig.
