On 25 November 2026, the European Parliament Former Members Association of the (FMA) is organising an EP to Campus event at the University of Setsunan in Osaka, Japan. This event will bring the European Parliament closer to students through an online conference with our distinguished former Member of the European Parliament, Manuel Porto.
The conference will focus on the Common Commercial Policy of the European Union, exploring its role in international trade, economic relations and global cooperation. Drawing on his experience in the European Parliament, Mr Porto will share his insights into the challenges and opportunities that shape EU trade policy.
Through the EP to Campus programme, the FMA aims to encourage dialogue between academia and European institutions, fostering European citizenship and a deeper understanding of the EU’s global role.
