On Thursday 14 September 2023 from 17.00 to 18.15 (Brussels time) the FMA organised its next online Librorum event in cooperation with the European Parliament Liaison Office (EPLO) in Spain.

Francisca Sauquillopresented the newest publication Tiempo De Paz with the special coordination of FMA and EP former President Enrique Barón Crespo ‘Europa: Construir el futuro o volver a pasado’, Europe: Building the future or going back to the past.

“This magazine raises the question of whether the current problems which Europe faces should be addresses with more or less Europe. All the authors who write here argue that the response to these challenges requires the European Union to be strengthened for it to be a useful instrument for the progress of the peoples of Europe.” Enrique Barόn Crespo, Tiempo De Paz N°148, page 8.

FMA Vice-President Monica Baldi welcomed the speakers and participants to the event and gave the floor to Juergen Foecking, Deputy Head of EPLO Spain, for the opening remarks.

The 148th publication of Tiempo De Paz was introduced by FMA Honorary Secretary Teresa Riera Madurell. This was followed by an intervention of the coordinator of the publication and former EP and FMA President Enrique Barόn Crespo and of the President of Tiempo De Paz, Francisca Sauquillo.

Additionally, contributors to the publication Mr Héctor Casenueva, Ms Cristina Gallach and Mr Alejandro Peinado took the floor to elaborate more about the content of their articles.

The event included as well a Q&A session with the audience moderated by FMA Board Member Paul Rübig. FMA Vice-President Monica Baldi concluded the online event.
