On 19 May, the University of Flensburg hosted an online lecture entitled “Changing Functions and Role of the European Parliament in EU Policy”.
Delivered by Ivan Štefanec, the lecture explored the evolving role of the European Parliament within the EU’s policymaking process. The session explored the development of the Parliament’s functions over time, its growing influence on EU legislation, and the challenges and opportunities facing the institution in an increasingly volatile political climate.
This online event brought together students and individuals interested in European affairs, providing them with a valuable opportunity to deepen their understanding of the EU’s institutional framework and democratic decision-making processes.
Special thanks are due to the University of Flensburg for organising this engaging academic event, and to Ivan Štefanec for sharing his expertise and contributing to the discussion on the future of the European Parliament and European policymaking.
