Former Members of the European Parliament release for the first time their contribution to the CoFoE

Our European Union: Time to be Bold, to Act and to Deliver”, is the title of the contribution of the European Parliament Former Members’ Association (FMA) to the Conference on the Future of Europe, that will be presented for the very first time on 9 February 2022 during a Press Conference in the European Parliament in Brussels.

The FMA President and Former President of the European Parliament Hans-Gert Pöttering and the FMA Reflection Group’s members will present 5 general guidelines for the future of Europe as well as 10 concrete proposals formulated on the direction in which the EU should develop. The FMA believes that the Conference should concentrate on broad questions related to European integration, increase its capacity to act and deliver what citizens expect, and assure the protection of the rule of law, without excluding the possibility of a treaty change.

Only registered journalists will receive a copy of the proposal, which is available in all EU official languages, a few minutes before the Press Conference starts.
