On 4 September 2026, the European Parliament Former Members Association of the (FMA) is organising an EP to Campus event at the University of Pavia in Venice, Italy.
The conference will focus on “75 Years after the Treaty of Paris: The Origins and Future of the European Project”, exploring the evolution of European integration and the challenges that will shape the future of the European Union. The discussion will address the EU’s political model and examine whether the Union should move towards greater centralisation or reinforce a federal system based on the principle of subsidiarity. This will be considered from academic, institutional and social perspectives.
Through the EP to Campus programme, the FMA aims to promote dialogue between academia and European institutions, thereby fostering European citizenship and a deeper understanding of the European project’s values, challenges and future directions.
